Building your network of snow-focused peers

Some tips and insights on building a professional network to help you in the industry.

Building a professional network of snow-focused experts is a critical step in the path to growing a successful commercial snow business. There are many ways to do so through SIMA.

Attending in-person meetings

SIMA has a number of in-person meetings each year. Taking the time to attend is worth the investment. The success of our in-person events for over 25 years is proof that they work in bringing people together!

We work hard to make sure our events are engaging and provide ample time for people to get to know each other. And if you attend one snow-related event each year, you should attend SIMA’s Annual Snow & Ice Symposium. This event provides numerous receptions, special events and facility tours, topical roundtable discussions and ample free time.

If you’re seeking something closer to home, state-based landscaping associations often hold snow-focused seminars. SIMA even partners with many of them to sponsor, present or plan education sessions, so you get the best of both worlds.

Virtual roundtables

Each year SIMA delivers several virtual events to connect industry pros from anywhere, share information and best practices, and get to know one another. Typically these happen in Zoom, including the use of breakout rooms as needed, but occasionally other platforms will be explored. Either way, we’ll do our best to make them easy to access and helpful in connecting you to like-minded snow friends.

Check the SIMA Events calendar page for updates on all SIMA events.
